Today marks two weeks since Kaizers Orchestra went on the main stage of Tons of Rock to finish off Thursday night. Tons of Rock is mainly a heavy metal festival, and many commenters in social media were upset Kaizers weren’t heavy enough, and the festival has lost its authenticity. The band still drew a massive crowd. I know, because I was walking amongst them trying to get some good angles. I was lucky to be part of an exclusive little group of volunteer photographers during the festivals. As much as I hate working for free, I saved a lot of money not having to buy food or beer this year as I have done as a normal festival goer previous years.

My role as a photographer this year was capturing the vibe in and around the different sponsor’s and partner’s booths, but I had time to see some concerts as well.
